Challenge: take one picture everyday for one year.
Starting January 2015 I took a picture every single day. Well, almost every single day. Last year was a crazy year full of lots of crazy stuff like moving from California to China! It’s basically been one gigantic roller coaster of emotions but we made it. I wish I could say that I hadn’t missed a day, but I did miss just a few. But I’d say 362 pictures out of 365 is pretty good.
As I’ve finished that year of taking pictures, I think I may do a random month of them again every now and then maybe, but as of now that’s on pause.
If you’d like to look through the past year of my life, you can scroll through the posts below!
2015, it’s been wild. It’s been crazy, it’s been emotional, it’s been hilarious, and full of the most wonderful adventures.
2016, I know you’re going to match 2015’s wild and raise it to a whole new level.
Let’s do this.
A whole year has passed! I have missed a few days of taking pictures, hence the reason this is day 362 and not 365. I don’t think I’ll be posting pictures everyday anymore. I do think I want to experiment with normal blog posts and maybe “taking pictures for a month” or something like that. We’ll see. 🙂 But anyways, Happy New Year!
“Won’t you stay alive, I’ll take you for a ride, I will make you believe you are lovely.”
She thinks she’s pretty cool.
“There is a certain happiness in being silly and ridiculous.”

It was a crazy but very successful and memorable Christmas. 🙂
Merry Christmas Eve!!
(the canned dog food is hard to shake)
(i pity the people who had to taste these to get the flavor juuuust right)
Oh the Christmas puns…
It looks like it’s going to be a rainy Christmas 🌧
“Am I at the bottom yet?”
Thank you Disney for remaking all my childhood movies so I can fan girl over perfect fairy tales, Prince Charming, and happy endings.
You know you and your best friend are Christmas addicts when you’re wearing matching pjs, drinking extreme hot chocolate, watching Holiday Inn, and jamming to Christmas music as if it’s completely normal.
Sick day + Christmas music + Netflix = 😀
I’m so pumped. It’s gonna be the best concert ever. #TØP2016
And I didn’t think we could get any crazier.
Rimmel Kate Moss 107. Thank you Grace!
Ice cream has never tasted so good.
Hard to think that just two days ago we were running in the snow and now we’re in California eating In N Out. #timetravelispossible
Goodbye snowy China, Hello America
Christmas is coming!
p.s. goodbye apartment, see you in a few months.
Up the escalator, on our way back from our last lunch.
Let the packing begin! The plane takes off for California in less than two days!
Snow as far as the eye can see.
Not just an illegal act. “The” illegal act.
It’s been snowing a lot recently and freezing cold, but he likes it.
We were visiting at a deer farm today.
Welcome to the largest indoor water park in Asia!

A late Thanksgiving celebration with some students. 🙂
The dishwashing station 🍴
Our Thanksgiving table centerpiece! 🙂
Our attempt at Thanksgiving cookies while we prep for the feast tonight!
The view from the roof. If you look closely you can see the smoke from all the coal they burn. Smells great….not. 😉
Keeping it classy and drying our clothes as we don’t have a dryer. But we do have a chandelier so…

Easily one of the best books I’ve ever read. Dekker never disappoints.
Finally got around to starting a puzzle!
We found a little stepping stone path in the area around our apartment complex.
“stay alive, stay alive, for me, you will die, but now your life, is free”
Up to the Lightrail we go.
The lovely gray haze of coal and all around pollution has now become a permanent part of the scenery. (shout out to the lovely mold growing on our window there too thanks to condensation. )
This post is a little different. I picked a few things off Pinterest that were making me rather excited for the upcoming Christmas season. Christmas is my favorite time of year (autumn being a close second) and I found it too hard to just choose one picture for my blog. So here’s a few Christmas-y things to get you excited for the festive season.
Baking, candy canes, and a hot drink are vital.
This was just far too cute.
This always has our house smelling soooo good! It literally is what Christmas smells like.
Wrapping! I love the idea of wrapping with plain brown paper, and tying it with string.
Oh the Christmas puns…
Very merry indeed.
I love this.
Winter sweaters and festive scarves!
Christmas sweaters are a must.
Tights, plaid, and a chunky cardigan.
And of course, the tree all lit up.
I know, I get excited a bit too early. Not to mention the fact I’ve been listening to Christmas music since August. Shhhhh…
We went on a walk early this morning in 20 degree weather.
It snowed! 🌨☃
Is it Christmas yet?? I think it needs to be Christmas.
“What are you drawing?”
“A man. He’s going to his car.”
Haze…aka Air Pollution.
Street view. Grocery Store to the right, Lightrail Station to the left.
Crossing the street is a little different here.
Our lovely chandelier…
It’s getting kinda cold.
I’d say it’s the best song on the album but I can’t because the whole album is beautifully amazing.
“The sun will rise
And we will try again”
^^ adventures in asia ^^
“Look I’m a statue! But the stairs are slippery so I’m a falling statue.”
Hot chocolate is always the best option on a cold day.
“Warm Prompt: Water is good for health.” Good to know.
“We didn’t realize we were making memories we just knew we were having fun.”
Fish and Chips and the new S.H.I.E.L.D. episode. (which killed my shipper heart)
Hello Hong Kong,
Goodbye Hong Kong.
He was taking a selfie with his luggage…why I don’t know.
“You’re always welcome in my blanket fort. & when we don’t have a blanket fort, we can build one.”
So. We went to a Chinese wedding today!
Onto the wall they go…
Hey! So this is my post for yesterday, we were out and I wasn’t able to upload in time. So I will post this picture from yesterday and another tomorrow. 🙂
Yeah, there’s some strange fruits here.
To the light rail we go.
The cover of a little blank book I’m hoping to watercolor in often.
Woke up to lots of rain and cold wind.
He thinks he looks pretty cool in the glasses.
Waiting for the light rail.
‘Merry Mistletoe’ has been lit!!
p.s. And we are now back on track for daily posts 🙂
Our stylish indoors shoes.
I should have wifi soon, so I will be able to post daily soon hopefully. 🙂
Waiting in airports is fun.
“We be crazy.”

“We stand up for each other.”

“We’re one heart and one mind.”
He thought they improved the picture.
“Ooh! They got a tie, put a tie on me. Cool guys wear ties.”
Spending the night watching the best of Blue’s Clues (Steve’s episodes of course) and watching 9-17 year olds sing along to all the songs.
And later on we’re going to watch Bourne Ultimatum…yeah that’s us.
Toilet paper dodgeball
Homemade ice cream, apple pie, and chocolate cake at Grandma’s house.
I love these girls to death. (And Liv!!! She wasn’t there when we took the pics)
“The names Sherlock Holmes.”
We rode the coasters until we hurt all over, laughed until our sides ached and we fell over, ate and drank as much as we could, screamed together as we fell to our deaths, and had one of the best days of my life.
Train Robber: “Six boyfriends? Do you really need all of these?”
Train Robber #2: “Just tell us which one you’d like to keep and we’ll take care of the rest.”
I stared out the window
As you drove
We see the world pass by
The blurs of our wanderings
You turn the music up
Like it never mattered where we were going
As long as the wind found your face
And the light found my eyes
And your hand finds mine
We’ll wander to nowhere
And back again
Yes we had milk and graham crackers while playing monopoly. No judging man, no judging…
Very proud of 34 (Nick) and 99 (Max) today. They did crazy awesome.

There was too much cuteness going on to not take a picture.
He was hiding in the corner so my phone could charge and he could play at the same time.
This made me laugh so hard. It’s so true.
We really shouldn’t hang out together anymore. Crazy things happen.
I’ve been upgraded!
Instead of a picture today I decided to post a song. This video is just the lyric video, and I’ve really been loving this song lately, especially today for some reason. So yeah, I hope you enjoy!
“Let’s play hide and seek!”
“No, I don’t want to lose any children!”
“They’ll go and hide and then never come back!”
We may have snuck out to the pool for a late swim… #toweltwins
I can pretend it’s Fall…right?
Blankets + Pillows + 5 foot Teddy Bear + Tea + Best Buddy + YouTube = Good Times

Summer, it’s been great. Fall, please hurry.
Cutest kid ever.
A brand new one! Mint is my favorite.
This setup belongs to a very talented female artist, who is 94 years old. Her paintings were all over the house and they were all so beautifully done.
Some of us were roasting marshmallows and eating s’mores for the first time tonight.
Why can’t it be Christmas already?
Joggers + Sweater + Good Book + Netflix = happy
Dinner at the mall.
Old black and white movies are the best movies. ❤
Watching ‘Bringing Up Baby’ makes me remember how much I love Cary Grant.

Cassie gave this to me, and I don’t think I could’ve found a quote that suits me any better.
Before and After
We may not have been as good as the boys, but we still had fun.
Audrey Hepburn knows what’s up.
This scene in ‘Roman Holiday’ made me laugh…they were both such great actors.

… I’m gonna have to get on top of this.
The only flower on the plant.
#throwbackthursday to Cassie’s Birthday party a week ago. She had several quotes for each of us, and I have to say they all fit us so well.
“On the road again
Going places that I’ve never been
Seeing things that I may never see again
I can’t wait to get on the road again…”
One of my close friends is constantly singing this song, mostly to annoy me, but I thought it was fitting seeing as today we moved into the third house we’ll be staying at this summer.
Fun Week in 48 hours … Let the water wars begin.
“I will be sane, for one whole day. Until the sun makes the hills it’s grave.”

I didn’t make this, but this is basically what happened to me.
Season 1 … Complete.
We sold enough stuff at our annual yard sale to raise $2,500 for the kids in Mozambique, Africa! 125 kids will get a uniform and be able to go to school. Crazy stuff.
Bright summer nails and the perfect beach blanket.
From 7am to 7pm we organized, sorted through, and priced a bizillion different things. Tomorrow, we finish!
We made flower crowns, ate great food, and took loads of pics. Happy Birthday to this crazy lady. Love you Cass!

“Did they send me daughters, when I asked for sons?”
-I’ll Make a Man Out of You (Mulan)
So the reason I hadn’t been posting these last few days, is because I was up at Summer Camp where there was no wifi or service. I left Tuesday, and just got back today. But! I did take pictures, and am posting them now. 🙂
Moved out! Goodbye old house.
Went on a 5 mile hike…3 days later my legs are still angry at me.
So I ate breakfast blindfolded and attached to Grace at the wrist. Good times. The challenge was for us to either be attached to our partner at the wrist or the ankle and then do certain tasks, like eating, walking, or cleaning around the cabin. Though it was hard, it was pretty funny.
We played ‘Sardines’ in the dark, and all wore glowing necklaces so we weren’t completely lost.
The view outside of one of the rooms in the house we are staying at for the next week or so. It’s pretty sweet.
What. On. Earth.
Marvel’s Agent’s of S.H.E.I.L.D. last episode until June 11th. I have a feeling this is going to be an emotional one.

“Here’s a ticket.” “Why?” “Because to much talking!”
Editing from 2pm to 9pm…it was a long day.
The loft beds and bunk beds are gone! I’m not complaining though…this is pretty darn comfy.
It was a long and crazy day okay? Do not judge me…

My dad found these old cards while going through some old belongings. They had us laughing.

Watched some kids tonight and they liked “bowling” the best.
New Once Upon a Time episode and fuzzy socks. Perfect end to the day.
We saw a Mom duck and her ducklings cross a road today.
Went to see one of my bestest and closest friend’s sister performance in ‘The Little Mermaid.’ Good job Jessie!

Marie Calander’s ‘The Works Frisco Burger.’ I don’t think I’m going to be able to eat anything for another 3 years…
Board Game Night with the girls.

I really didn’t think yellow would be that hard of a color to find.
Kitchen window view.
My beautiful and crazy best friends stole me for the day and took me on a happy late birthday adventure. There were so many moments I loved I couldn’t decide on just one picture. And there’s quite a few I haven’t added as well.
I love these girls to death, and am the luckiest girl in the world to have such awesome friends. #we’retotallypunkrock #wewentonanadventure #bestdayever #ilovethemsomuch
What do you do when you want to play Life but don’t have it?
Make your own of course.
If you understand this…you are a beautiful person.
(And if you don’t understand it, you are still a beautiful person. )
One of the perks to being homeschooled is watching the latest Once Upon a Time episode on lunch break.
We saw an old house that we wanted to go in, and when we saw the ‘OPEN’ sign we got really excited. Until we found out it wasn’t an open house but a bed and breakfast. They were really nice though and let us crazy girls look around.
This was a cool looking lock on a dividing door. Abbey and I could see each other through it, though I’m pretty sure we looked insane.

Got white roses today for my birthday thanks to Deedee.
I learned today that you should be wary when playin Monopoly with Grace…she’s too good.
Tonight was a very entertaining night! So much fun to watch everybody scrambling to create their dishes before the clock ran out.
And a shoutout to Maggie for being an awesome judge. Not to mention the youngest!
Can I just say this did not mean the same thing it does today when we got it however long ago. 😉
Easily one of the best days of my life. We rode roller coasters all day, made stupid faces for the cameras (whether we were trying or not), and ended the day screaming while riding a raft down a river. Couldn’t have asked to spend it with better people.<3
p.s. shoutout to the girl in the back who totally photobombed us.
Maggie and Lily made some pretty good cupcakes today. ❤
It hailed for a little bit today.
Excerpt from ‘Mess’ by Keri Smith. It’s a book similar to the ‘Wreck this Journal.’ I wish I had this one!
One little flower finally bloomed thanks to the rain.
After 170 pictures, we finally found one we liked. 😉
Working on my book, whilst blaring RED’s new album, ‘of Beauty and Rage.’ I am loving this album. It sounds like the old RED again.
Through the fence.
So there’s a pretty normal looking plant in our backyard…that is until you get above it and look down into the middle. The little things looked like fuzzy spiders almost…*shudders*
Went out with my Mom today. ❤
Thanks to my Grandma I got new converse today. I’ve been wanting the all black lowtops for ages. So exciting!
Reading one of the most heart wrenching, plot twisted, and action packed books ever with some chocolate ice cream. ❤
I was at the library today when I happened upon this. Needless to say I freaked out. And yes, I picked one up. My three words were: “England, Dystopia, & Trapped.” We’ll see how this goes.
Cookie Dough. ^.^
The kids made Volcanoes and Mosaics out of candy and such today.
Yeah, I guess we have a pretty cool view from our street.
Some desserts my dad brought home for Valentine’s Day. 🙂
I heard this song today and it put a new perspective on it for me. This part in particular.
My friend came over today. We made a blanket fort with loads of comfy blankets, pillows, christmas lights and watched some YouTube. And we may or may not have had bubbles… It was loads of fun to just to “be kids again.” 🙂
They’re are a few fandoms this could fit into. 😉 I’ve been drawing on myself a lot lately…my whole arm was covered today. O.O
So I failed miserably at taking a picture yesterday. It’s not the same, but I’m gonna try to take two today. 🙂

A little “thing” I made when I was bored. (aka procrastinating)
Wrap bracelet. I love these things.
My british mugs and tea. ^.^
I love this saying a bit to much.
Once my younger brother heard that there was such a thing as a “My Brother Does My Makeup Challenge” he got rather excited. So that was among the list of things we did today.
My sister and I have matching Hightops. 🙂
I was going through some old stuff today and was really happy to find these. 3 years right there spent in, or thinking of Middle Earth. And even more importantly, seeing each installment with the bestest friends in this whole wide world. Love you girls so much. ❤
So Friday through Sunday (today) I was at camp, and didn’t really have internet service so I couldn’t post my pictures.
And even then I forgot to take a picture Friday, but got one Saturday! Then two on Sunday which I decided just to post for the heck of it. 😉
I saw this rather large pinecone (it looked bigger in person) outside our cabin and couldn’t help but snap a picture.
Grace was a lovely friend, and used her artsy talents on our arms.
Cassie snapped this of us whilst we were cleaning outside our cabin, earlier this morning. Combat boots & converse. ❤
I love this quote, and I love Finnick. 🙂
You can never go wrong with In N Out.
Doctor Who and Tea. Two things I love.
When we came out of the Orthodontist it was raining which made me really happy. But, my dad’s Volvo’s windshield wipers don’t work anymore…so that was an adventure. 😉
The tea stocks have been replenished at long last. I can now take on the school week.

Flannel, jeans, and my converse.
On the way home from the movies with my Mom. 🙂

So my friend Grace and I were somewhat twinning today. ❤

Trees, the fading sky, and pink clouds.
So today we were over at our friend’s home, and the boys were playing Wii as usual. I kept trying to take a picture but Nick decided to ruin it, by raising his leg to block the boys. I threatened him by saying I’d put it on the blog as my picture and he said fine, so… I did. ^.^
Just finished a few “Open When” cards for a friend who is moving away. Normally people just write letters I think, but I had fun with them, doodling, glueing, and the like. They’re a pretty cool and thoughtful gift to give. Neat idea.
Ice cream and cookies will always make me happy. ^.^
Shes my bestest bookworm friend, my unbiological sister, and I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done if I’d never met her. I love this girl like crazy. ❤
I’ve been doodling a lot lately. 🙂
I always get so overwhelmed by all the books at the library. Shelf after shelf, row after row, it just keeps going.
But I love it. 🙂

What better way to start the school week than with more blank pages than you remember leaving.
I love this journal, and I’m excited to see what the final product will look like. 🙂
Happy Birthday Grandma! ❤ (centerpieces for our “Italian” party decor)
I like to call these my David Tennant/Doctor shoes. ^.^
These are just a few books that I read when I was younger, and make me remember those times. I love them dearly, and still can recount the adventures they took me on. Fun times. ^.^
Happy New Year! I hope that your 2015 is amazing, and full of good times. 🙂
Here is my first Day by Day post. I’m excited to start this, and hope I’m able to carry it out throughout the rest of the year.
